Slowing down production
The Philippines and Thailand back into lockdown
Due to worsening COVID-19 situation in Thailand and The Philippines, stricter lockdown measurements are taking place. This slows down productions, which might have an impact on our stock levels.
Thailand
This weekend, Thailand reached the highest figures since the beginning of the pandemic due to the Delta variant. This is why Thai authorities have ordered the extension of the lockdown in 29 provinces. “Regarding this the state and local Government announced the very strictly handling procedure to all factories especially the Dark Red Zone (Samut Sakhon is included) to urgently slow down the production, increase and allow more social distancing space to all staffs, set up at least 10% in house local quarantine”, thus a spokesman of one of our Thai suppliers.
The Philippines
In the Philippines, the situation is no better. Lockdowns are extended and restrictions intensified. “Curfew is now 6 PM to 5 AM and no public transportation shall be available. With this situation, we would like to advise that we may experience delays in processing your orders due to manpower concerns as well as possible deliveries delay from our suppliers but we are doing our best to serve your orders as fast as we can”, thus a spokesman of one of our Philippine suppliers.
What does this mean for you?
If you want to be sure to have enough stock, and your space allows it, we would advise you to purchase Philippine and Thai products in time. Because of the uncertain situation, shortages may occur.
